Nina Medić

Hi! I am Nina, a mathematician and a programmer.

I enjoy combining pure mathematical logic with creative programming to create innovating ideas and find new solutions to problems.

My professional life, I have started with a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics. The education road led me next to M.Sc. in Computer Science. During which, I had the opportunity to be a part of Erasmus+ mobility. For a full semester, I was a student at an Otto-Friedrich-Universität in Bamberg (Germany).

After returning home I spend a semester working as a teachers assistant at my home University (University of Novi Sad). My tasks were to prepare and demonstrate practical lessons and tasks, help students with individual work and create and grade tests. The subject that I was in charge of were:

  • Architecture, design and patterns (included topics such as refactoring, design patterns and microservices).

  • Software practicum: Tools and environment in the development of software (which was a mix of introductions: Linux terminal, Git, Windows Builder and Debugging in Eclipse).

I prepared a proposal, won and successfully finished a project for Google Summer of Code (GSoC). More about it you can read here.

Through my education and experience, I gained:

  • Practical and theoretical knowledge
    * Java
    * Pharo
    * Python

    * SQL
    * JavaScript
    * TDD
    * Object-oriented programming
    * Refactoring
    * Design patterns
    * Git
    * Wix.

  • Theoretical knowledge
    * Machine learning
    * Information security
    * Software design.
